Start with the way you actually cook

An outdoor kitchen should make an ordinary evening feel easy. Think about the meals you cook most often, how many people usually join you, and what you carry between the house and the patio. Those everyday details are a better starting point than a long appliance list. A compact grill and useful preparation area might suit your home beautifully; a larger entertaining space may need separate places to cook, serve and sit.

Bash Grills and Pergolas is your point of contact for outdoor kitchens in Boca Raton and South Florida. Bring us your ideas, an approximate location and the questions you have not answered yet. Your estimate conversation is the place to discuss the project scope, available options and the next steps for your particular property.

Give every part of the layout a purpose

Before choosing finishes, consider how people will move around the space. Where will you set down groceries? Can someone reach a drink without crossing the cooking area? Will open appliance doors interrupt the path back to the house? Marking the proposed footprint with removable tape can reveal awkward corners before they become permanent. Include chairs in that exercise, because occupied seating needs more space than an empty counter suggests.

Existing patios deserve a careful look, too. Surface condition, level changes, drainage, access and nearby utilities can affect what is practical. Do not assume that an existing slab can support every proposed feature. Ask what site information is needed before a layout or price can be finalized, and identify any conditions that require a qualified professional to review them.

Choose materials as a complete system

A beautiful finish is only one part of an outdoor kitchen. The supporting structure, cabinet construction, countertop, fasteners and appliances all need to be suitable for their proposed use. Ask how each selection handles outdoor exposure and what maintenance its manufacturer recommends. Look at physical samples in the light where the kitchen will sit; the same surface can read very differently indoors and outside.

Keep appliance instructions part of the design conversation. The exact model determines the cutout, access, ventilation and clearance requirements. A grill that fits visually is not necessarily compatible with an enclosure. Before materials are ordered, the people responsible for the installation should reconcile the appliance specifications with the proposed design. Our planning guide explains the questions to bring to that discussion.

Know what your estimate includes

Useful estimates define the work clearly. Ask for the proposed appliances, finishes, dimensions and site preparation to be identified, along with any assumptions. Utility work, demolition, permits, engineering, delivery access and restoration can change the scope. A written list of inclusions and exclusions makes it easier to compare options without treating two different projects as though they are the same.

Tell us whether a pergola or a future expansion is part of your plan. Discussing the full outdoor space early can help reveal conflicts between shade, cooking, seating and circulation. It does not mean you need to build everything at once. Ask which decisions should be made together and which elements could sensibly wait.

From first idea to a clear next step

Start with your city, a few photographs and a short description of your ideal outdoor kitchen. Include your target budget if you have one, and say whether the existing space is finished or still being planned. We can use that information to focus the estimate conversation. The schedule, material availability, permit responsibilities and any warranty terms should be explained for the actual scope before you commit.

For property managers, identify the decision-maker, access arrangements and any community restrictions at the beginning. For homeowners, gather HOA information and available plans if you have them. Neither a concept sketch nor a preliminary conversation replaces the approvals or technical review your project may need. A well-defined starting point helps everyone understand what happens next.

How much does an outdoor kitchen cost?

The footprint, appliances, finishes, site condition and utility work all affect the estimate. Share your priorities and budget so the proposed scope can be discussed clearly. We do not publish a one-size-fits-all price.

Can I include a pergola?

Yes, you can discuss a kitchen and pergola together. Appliance clearances, overhead conditions and the proposed structure must be reviewed before the combined design is finalized.

Who handles permits and warranties?

We’ll explain responsibilities, required reviews and the applicable product or workmanship terms during your estimate. Ask for them in writing before work begins.
